I think you will agree with me when I say:
t’s REALLY difficult to upgrade Microsoft Office every few years.
That’s usually how it always goes with new software and smarter features. But it’s a different thing when every seventh person in the world uses Microsoft Office and so do 83% of the Fortune 500 companies. Yes, Microsoft Office 2016 is now out in the glare. And its time you considered upgrading.

12 Things You Need to Know About the Future of Nike (According to Its Top Execs)
by Brendan Dunne
Last week, Nike held its first investor meeting since 2013, with the stated purpose of reviewing the sportswear titan's achievements in fiscal 2015 and long-term strategy for growth. The execs that took to the stage dished on much more — new innovations in the world of sneaker technology, cross-industry collaborations, and more were discussed at last Wednesday's meeting at the Nike world headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. Delivering the info were Nike higher ups like CEO Mark Parker and COO Eric Sprunk.
The only problem with the meeting was it that it was a day-long commitment, meaning anyone not privileged enough to set aside the necessary chunk of hours to take the whole thing in ran the risk of missing out on the exciting plans discussed. Fortunately though, Nike's made recap videos and transcripts of the day's proceedings available. This stuff is required reading for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of how the leader of the sneaker world operates, so anyone looking for the comprehensive recap can find that here.

Windows 10 Hits 110 Million Devices
Two months into Windows 10's run and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) finds itself a tenth of the way to reaching its three year goal.
Microsoft has its sights set on a billion active Windows 10 installations in the wild by mid-2018. At its press event today, it announced that there were now 110 million active copies of Windows 10 in the wild. As some pointed out to me last time, remember this figure includes installs both on devices and virtual machine installs (although my guess is that VM installs represent 1-2 million at most of the total, if that).
The new mark is up roughly 45 million from the numbers released from Microsoft on Aug. 26, six weeks ago. That works out to roughly 7.5 million new installs (or sales of Windows 10 PCs) per week.
That's good, but not great, for a couple of reasons. First, those numbers fall under the tail end of the so-called "back to school shopping season" (Aug.-Sept.), a time that has traditionally been one of the strongest seasonal sales periods for the PC. Second, it's off the pace of early adoption, which equated to nearly 18 million new additions per week.

All You Need to Know About Microsoft’s Surface Book
Microsoft surprised the tech community at its recent press conference by unveiling the Surface Book, the company’s first attempt at a more traditional laptop. The Surface Book combines the features that made its Surface Pro tablets popular — such as the ability to run a full version of Windows — with features that some traditional laptop users need that may have prevented them from considering the tablet devices like the Surface RT.
The laptop’s display measures in at 13.5 inches, over an inch larger than the newest Surface Pro 4 tablet and almost 3 inches larger than previous models. It also has about twice the screen resolution of previous Surface devices, aiming to compete with Apple’s MacBook Pro line and high-end displays.
The Surface Book also includes more storage space, and an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor depending on the model you select — all features that you’d find on a traditional laptop, as opposed to a tablet. Where it differentiates itself is in its versatility: It can be used as a traditional laptop, or detached or flipped for use as a tablet.
With these additional features comes a premium price: The cheapest configuration sets you back $1,499. It is worth it? We’ll take a look at what you need to know about Microsoft’s latest device.
What’s better
We’ve already compared some of the specs to previous Surfaces and shown what a drastically better device the Surface Book is. It does seem as if Microsoft intends for this device to cater to the person looking for the versatility of a tablet, without sacrificing the power of a traditional laptop.
Compare the amount of RAM for example. Previous Surfaces had either 2 or 4GB of RAM, which puts them in line with the average tablet. The RAM in the Surface Book is four times that (8 or 16GB) — this is more than sufficient for not only basic computing but also more intensive applications like video editing.
Indeed the Surface Book includes a separate graphics processor in higher end models, something you’d want for not only gaming but better performance in other applications like video and photo editing (Photoshop, for example). If that’s what you think you’d do, opt for these models.

7 Parts Of Your Body You Shouldn't Touch With Your Hands
Think of your body
like it's a temple: It's yours to use, but there are some sacred spots
you shouldn't put your grubby hands on.
"Research
shows that hands play a major role in the transmission of germs," says
Kelly Reynolds, PhD, an associate professor in the Zuckerman College of
Public Health at the University of Arizona. "Even after proper washing,
hands and fingers are rapidly re-contaminated from the surrounding
environment."
That's
especially true if you haven't clipped your nails lately, or if you
sport some bling. Research from the University of Nebraska suggests that
people who wear rings or keep their fingernails 2 millimeters or longer
tend to carry more microbes on their mitts. "My opinion is that the
easier it is to clean your hands, the better off you are," says study
author Mark E. Rupp, MD, professor and chief of the division of
infectious disease at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The next step: keep your paws off these body parts as much as possible.
Ghana suspends High Court judges after Anas Aremeyaw Anas' film
Ghana has suspended
seven of 12 High Court judges implicated in allegations of bribery
stemming from a documentary made by an investigative journalist.
The seven had a case of "misbehaviour" to answer, an official statement said. Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas says he has nearly 500 hours of video evidence on tape, showing judges alleging asking for bribes and demanding sex.
Twenty-two lower court judges have also been suspended. Some of the judges have denied the allegations.
Mr Anas' documentary has shocked the nation, and has been shown to packed houses at cinemas in the capital, Accra.
The seven are the most senior judges to be suspended so far in what is the biggest corruption scandal to hit Ghana's judiciary.
Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood had established a "prima facie case of stated misbehaviour against them", the statement by Ghana's Judicial Council said.
An inquiry would now be held to determine whether or not they are guilty, it added.
They could be sacked if they are found guilty.
The public is keenly following the scandal and it has been the lead story in the local media for almost a month.
But people are no longer queuing at cinemas to see Mr Anas's film - Ghana in the eyes of God; Epic of Injustice - which is touring the country and had reached the second city, Kumasi, after showing to packed houses in the capital, Accra. This is because a court has, for now, blocked further screenings in the city, following a case brought by one of the implicated judges who says its screening will prejudice him.
The courts resumed sitting this week after a holiday break. But the suspension of judges has meant delays in judgements as their workload is being handed over to colleagues, who are already overburdened.
Of the other five High Court judges implicated by the investigation - two have retired, another two are in court challenging it and one has been cleared as a case of mistaken identity
Last month, 22 lower court judges and magistrates were suspended pending the outcome of investigations ordered by the chief justice.
Lawyers for 14 of the accused judges have denied the allegations and the High Court has dismissed their attempt to get the investigation suspended. The other accused judges have yet to comment in public.
Who is Anas Aremeyaw Anas?
Anas Aremeyaw Anas is something of an enigma, as he is never seen in public without a disguise. His fans call him a modern-day folk hero or the "James Bond of journalism" for his work in exposing alleged corruption and malpractice in Ghana and beyond. In his 15 years of undercover journalism he has among other disguises, posed as a female investor in high heels, sunglasses and lipstick, and a janitor in a brothel. He has also secreted himself inside a fake rock placed at the side of the road with a peep hole for his eyes.In his work he has exposed a human trafficking racket, corruption in the police and malpractice in a food processing plant.
He argues that "there is no point in doing journalism, if it does not lead progress in your society". Before becoming a journalist, Mr Anas worked as a lawyer for two years.
Your Words Have Impact, So Think Before You Speak
Do you know of those people who fly off the handle without stopping to think about the consequences of what they're saying? Someone who just reacts to something someone said or did and starts attacking that person with cruel accusations? The damage could be so profound, it will forever sever the relationship. In business, this could forever impact a career in a negative way.
You’ve probably observed this in others many times. Maybe even in yourself. Whether it’s at work, with friends or in some type of social situation, many people speak their minds before thinking. There are many who “fly off the handle” and don’t stop to think about the repercussions of their words. I cringe when this happens because I know people are going to get hurt, and later on people will be sorry for what they said. But the damage is done.
How important are words and speaking to business leaders? Leaders should think about words as being so powerful that they might be the main reason a leader will succeed or fail. Sure, a leader who doesn’t choose his words carefully may succeed to some degree, but the truly great leaders are great orators, as well.
Think about one of the greats: President John F. Kennedy, inaugurated on Jan. 20, 1960. He is known for his famous line: “And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
Within the words we speak is an emotional potency. Each word that we use can have a colossal impact. A word from a manager or boss, may, at first glance, seem inconsequential. But never think of words as inconsequential. Instead, think of them as powerful. Words can build up or tear down. They can motivate or discourage.
Words influence others and build relationships at work and personally. They can tear down relationships. Simply put, language holds massive, colossal power to manifest change, whether it’s good or bad.
Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperor from 161 to 180 AD, considered to be one of the most Stoic philosophers who ever lived, said: “Perform every act in life as though it were your last.”
