What Buhari Plans To Implement In Africa

Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed one of President Muhammadu Buhari’s prime agenda.
Speaking while receiving an award from African Students’ Union Parliament (ASUP) at Abuja, Onu said that President Buhari is committed to ensuring that Africa remains the centre peace of Nigeria’s foreign policy.
According to Onu, the dream of Africa peace is possible when all countries join hands to work for the development of the continent, with the notion that peace is attainable.
Onu said: “I want to assure you that this present administration in Nigeria came because of the collective desire of Nigerians for change. We were in the opposition for 16 years and Nigerians did not like the way the country was moving.
“And that is why many of us who were in opposition stayed there to make sure we effect the change in a democratic manner. And the administration we have now-the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is committed to making sure that Africa remains the centre peace of Nigeria’s foreign policy.
“We have the largest population in Africa and largest economy on the continent. Thus we have a lot of responsibility to help engineer the new direction, the direction of growth, the direction of development and other peaceful condition throughout Africa.”
Meanwhile, President Buhari, has said that only united work between Nigeria and neighouring countries will help to defeat Boko Haram terrorists in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.

APC Senators Working Against Buhari: Saraki Supporters Rain Insults

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) Senators from the North on Thursday, July 30, denied working against the interest of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The senators were reacting to a publication which alleged that at least 20 Northern senators, who signed the vote of confidence motion on Senator Bukola Saraki, were actually those working against Buhari in the senate, Punch reports.
On Tuesday, the Senate reconvened from its three-week break and passed a vote of confidence on its embattled Senate President, Saraki, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and other principal officers of the upper house. The Northern senators were among the 81 members of the upper chamber who sponsored the vote of confidence.
Speaking at a news conference addressed by Senator Dino Melaye, the chairman, Senate ad hoc committee on media and publicity, they described the publication which tagged the affected senators as ‘Anti – Buhari’ as wicked,  satanic and unacceptable because all of them actually worked for Buhari’s victory at the poll and had determined to ensure the success of his administration.
According to Melaye, those who sponsored the publication were actually the real enemies of the president because their action was capable of causing disunity between the South and the North.

Melaye added that the members and leadership of the 8th Senate were committed to moving the nation forward by ensuring the success of Buhari’s programmes and policies.
In his reaction, one of the senators, Binta Garba, (Adamawa North) said: “My father, who was the driver of General Muhammadu Buhari when he was in the, military,  will never forgive me if I work against the president. It is not possible for me to work against him.”
Also speaking, Senator Mohammed Shittu, (Jigawa North East) rained curses on the writers and sponsors of the publication, alleging that the people who invited senators to the International Conference Centre on the day of inauguration, were the real enemies of Buhari.
The National Assembly crisis which has been ongoing was finally resolved this week. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had yesterday, applauded President Buhari for the fatherly role he played in the resolution of the crisis.

Manchester United Star, Di Maria Declared Missing

Manchester United Manager, Louis van Gaal, has admitted that he does not know the whereabouts of record signing, Angel Di Maria.
This is coming as the former Real Madrid player edges closer to agreeing a deal with Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1.
The Punch reports with reference to goal.com that Di Maria failed to report back for pre-season training as planned on July 25, and van Gaal confirmed that he had not boarded a plane to meet his team-mates in San Jose as planned.
The Dutchman further explained that after United went down 2-0 to PSG in a pre-season game in Chicago on Wednesday night, the player went AWOL, while Laurent Blanc, the PSG manager, revealed that talks are at an advanced stage.
Van Gaal, who addressed a press conference after the clash at Soldier Field, simply said: “I don’t know where he is,” but Blanc had more details on the purported move of the 27-year-old to the French capital giants.
He said: “Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are two big clubs, and negotiations can be difficult but we are close to an end.”
Di Maria’s £59.7 million move to Manchester just a little less than a year ago, was seen by many as a lucrative deal by the English giants, but the Argentine has struggled to fully adapt after a promising start and made only 20 starts in the Premier League last season.
Meanwhile, the Manchester United manager has revealed that he will not stay at the club beyond 2017, as he wants to be able to be with his wife.

WHAT YOU WANT BUT CAN 'T GET

We all want one thing that we know is impossible to have. it doesn’t necessarily have to be money; which everyone wants, it may be love, happiness, peace, a vacation to a remote island, or just some space to escape the world and its problems and just have time for ourselves. Life is like an obsessive boyfriend/girlfriend that we get tired of at some point in the relationship, bear in mind we’re hopelessly in love with it. Everybody must die, we don’t want to but we must, its just the way life is, its a revolution on its own that we haven’t quite understood yet.

some people love the way their life is, while some would give everything to change the way their life is, but one thing we should always keep in mind is, everything isn’t always what it seems, the happy ones outside could be the most broken ones and the sad ones that happy ones. the whole world is still a mystery in terms of how it operates, there’s always that question that lingers in the minds of people as individuals that are yet to be answered. When it comes to love, oh my! its an entirely different story, relationships re like the pioneer to an individuals life. Love is something we always come across, its is one of the inevitable things of what we know as life, its just part of the human race. I like to think of love as a kryptonite… it can make or break you, and there is always that someone in the picture that just turns everything around.

I’ve come across people in love, I’ve seen them in their happy states, where nothing matters but that special person, and I’ve seen them in their sad states; its terrifying, and then I’ve seen them in their broken states, God, its like a part of them is dead and gone, its like they’re a walking corpse with no use whatsoever. In relationships we go through the hardest times in our lives, this is because we’ve become accustomed to being with someone other than yourself involved in your life that it becomes a war with yourself when you have to let that person go, hence wanting what you cant have. I don’t think its possible to fall out of love, I just think every love story has its time, once its your time, everything falls into place and the rest is history.

THE 6 BEST IPHONE6 EXTENDED BATTERY CASES TO KEEP THE POWER FLOWING

Tylt Energi Sliding Power Case

It’s always frustrating when your iPhone runs out of juice and there’s no charger or outlet nearby. If you find your iPhone 6 simply isn’t keeping up with you, why not consider snagging yourself one of the best battery cases on the market? We’ve got a range of different options for you to consider right here.

Incipio-Ghost-Qi-Wireless-Charging-Battery-Case
Incipio Qi Ghost Wireless Charging Battery Case ($100)

Our top pick is the Incipio Ghost. The smart thing about this case is that it supports Qi wireless charging. That means you can place it on any Qi wireless charging pad and the case will charge up – no plugging in required. It also supports Incipio’s offGrid dock, which is another wireless charging solution, and you can use a standard micro USB cable, which is included, along with a headphone extender. You can almost double your iPhone 6 battery life, thanks to the high capacity 2,100mAh battery. It looks good, and has a slim, one-piece design with a brushed aluminum finish on the back. There’s a circular, silver power button that will light up the four white LEDs to give you an idea of remaining power. If you’ve been looking for a battery case and like the idea of wireless charging – this is the one for you.

Lenmar-Maven-Undead-Power-Battery-Case
Lenmar Maven Undead Power Battery Case ($90)

This slim and stylish battery case is a two-piece affair, which makes it easy to slide your iPhone 6 into place. It has a 3,000mAh battery inside which should fully charge the iPhone and still have a little left over in reserve. There are generous cut-outs for the camera and controls, a lip to protect the screen, and a port to redirect speaker audio to the front. The case has a soft touch, matte black finish, making it very comfortable to hold. If you want something brighter, it also comes in get blue, red, or silver versions. The only real detail on the minimalist body is the rear-mounted power button, which includes an LED to show remaining power. It’s fast to charge up thanks to a 2A input, and there is a microUSB cable and a headphone extender in the box. A desirable case.

Anker-Ultra-Slim-Extended-Battery-Case
Anker Ultra Slim Extended Battery Case ($40)

Anker is a popular brand for portable batteries, so we’re not surprised to find that the iPhone 6 battery case it offers is good. It’s not the most stylish or full-featured offering, but where this case really stands out is the low price, and its capacity. The large 2,850mAh capacity more than doubles your iPhone’s battery life, and there are four LEDs on the back to indicate the internal battery’s remaining power. It’s not a problem to fit or remove the case, due to its two-piece design, plus it’s slim — a rarity in the world of extended battery cases. The matte finish is plain, but it does have a pleasing soft touch feel. Inside the box is a headphone extender and a short micro USB cable.

Tylt-Energi-Sliding-Power-Case
Tylt Energi Sliding Power Case ($80)

This Tylt power case has a 3,200mAh battery inside, which is going to offer a good bit more than double your usual iPhone 6 battery life. The unique selling point here is the two piece design – there’s a thin shell for your iPhone 6, like a minimalist case, and it slides into the “Power Sleeve”. That means you can discard the battery portion when it’s out of charge and still have some protection for your phone. The four LED array on the back indicates remaining power. The downside with this case is that it is big and bulky with the Power Sleeve on. It also doesn’t ship with a headphone extender, but you’re going to need one. There is a micro USB cable included.

Mophie-Juice-Pack-Ultra-Case
Mophie Juice Pack Ultra Case ($150)

There are a few reasons to look carefully at the Mophie Juice Pack Ultra. This battery case has a large capacity of 3,950mAh, so you’re looking at 150% extra life for your iPhone 6. It’s relatively slim considering the size of that battery, and it’s also protective, so you won’t have to worry about bumps and falls. You’ll find four LEDs on the back to show remaining power, but there’s also a switch so you can decide when to charge and when to save juice for later. Like most of the cases here, you can charge and sync your iPhone with the case on. It comes with a headphone extender and a micro USB cable.

Unu-DX-Charging-Case
Uno DX Charging Case ($70)
The Uno DX has a big, 3,000mAh battery, so you can add around 125% extra life to your iPhone 6 once its own battery has expired. It’s another two-piece sliding design which makes it easy to fit, plus there’s a power button and a three color LED array on the back, so you know how much juice is left. In addition to a handy headphone extender and micro USB cable in the box, Uno also supplies a screen protector. It’s a bit bulky and plain-looking, but it delivers plenty of extra juice and it will do a solid job of protecting your phone from damage.

7 Interview Questions That Determine Emotional Intelligence

7 Interview Questions That Determine Emotional IntelligenceDetermining who you hire for a job plays a big part in forming yourcompany’s culture and ensuring its future success. Selecting informative interview questions can be a key factor in finding the right employees -- as well as weeding out the ones that won’t fit. A candidate’s answers can be telling.
While different companies embody various values and cultures, success in the workplace is strongly influenced by a person’s emotional intelligence, a quality that should be a non-negotiable when vetting job candidates, says Mariah DeLeon, vice-president of people at workplace ratings and review site Glassdoor.
Here are seven interview questions that can draw revealing answers from the job candidates you interview -- and get you on your way to finding employees with stellar emotional intelligence.

1. Who inspires you and why?

The job candidate’s answer often gives the interviewer a peek into who the interviewee models him or herself after. The response can also highlight the sorts of behavioral patterns the interviewee respects, saysCraig Cincotta, chief of staff and vice-president of communications at online home improvement marketplace Porch, where he’s heavily involved in team expansion and hiring.

2. If you were starting a company tomorrow, what would be its top three values?

Every good relationship starts with trust and aligned values. Insight into a person’s priorities -- as well as honesty and integrity -- can emerge in the candidate’s answer, explains Robert Alvarez, the CFO of ecommerce platform Bigcommerce.

3. If business priorities change, describe how you would help your team understand and carry out the shifted goals?

Shifting priorities happen in every company, and every job, so look for candidates who are flexible and possess the skills to help carry out change. Hire employees who are self-aware, motivated and display empathy advises DeLeon. “These skills will help employees better work in teams.”

4. Did you build lasting friendships while working at another job?

It takes a while for people to build relationships -- and being able to do so is a sign of solid emotional intelligence, Alvarez says. “[A lasting friendship] tells you that relationships and caring about people are important to the person.”

5. What skill or expertise do you feel like you’re still missing?

Curiosity and the desire to learn are vital signs that a prospective employee wants to get better at something. “People who struggle with this question are the people who think they already know it all,” warns Alvarez. “These are the people you want to steer away from.”

6. Can you teach me something, as if I’ve never heard of it before? (It can be anything: A skill, a lesson or a puzzle.)

A job candidate's answer to this question can reveal several qualities:
  • Whether the person is willing to take the time to think before speaking.
  • If the candidate has the technical ability to explain something to a person who is less knowledgeable in the subject.
  • Whether the candidate asks empathetic questions to the person being taught, such as, “Is this making sense?”

7. What are the top three factors you would attribute to your success?

The answer to this question can determine whether a person is selfless or selfish, Alvarez says. “When people talk about their own success, listen to whether someone talks about ‘me-me-me’ or ‘I-I-I.’ Or whether they talk about ‘the team,’ ‘we’ or ‘us.’”
“Look for a team player who brings something positive to the company,” Cincotta shares. “Someone can be the smartest person in the room, but if they are not someone you enjoy working with -- because they are more concerned with their own success over that of the company -- they won’t be a fit.” source entrepreneurship

Buhari meets Obama

WASHINGTON, DC — PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, implored his United States counterpart, Barack Obama, to assist Nigeria in locating and returning about $150 billion looted by corrupt government officials.
President Buhari made the appeal in an article he published in Washington Post, yesterday, shortly before he met with President Obama as part of his four-day working visit to the United States.
The appeal for assistance came as Obama expressed confidence in the ability of President Buhari to tackle the multiple challenges facing Nigeria through his clear agenda.
Buhari, who enumerated what he has done so far to decimate the Boko Haram insurgents including replacing the service chiefs and how governance had been badly run in the country, stressed the need to recover the stolen funds.
President Muhammadu Buhari and President of US Barack Obama during a meeting
President Muhammadu Buhari and President of US Barack Obama during a meeting‘’The fact that I now seek Obama’s assistance in locating and returning $150 billion in funds stolen in the past decade and held in foreign bank accounts on behalf of former, corrupt officials is a testament to how badly Nigeria has been run. This way of conducting our affairs cannot continue,’’ he said in the article.
We’ll assist, we‘ve confidence in Buhari — Obama
Welcoming President Buhari, the US President said the Nigerian leader had come with a clear agenda to tackle the problem of insecurity occasioned by activities of Boko Haram sect as well as other violent criminal activities.
Obama expressed appreciation over Buhari’s leadership style so far, saying that his administration would continue to assist and help Nigeria in overcoming her challenges.
He said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome President Buhari and his delegation here in the White House for his first visit since the historic election that took place. Nigeria is obviously one of the most important countries in the world, one of the most important countries in the African continent.
“Recently, we saw an election in which a peaceful transition to a new government took place. Nevertheless, the people of Nigeria understand that only through a peaceful political process that change can take place.
“President Buhari came into office with reputation for integrity and a very clear agenda that is to make sure that he has been bringing safely security and peace to his country. He is very concerned about the spread and the violence that is taking place there and the atrocities and has a very clear agenda in defeating Boko Haram and extremists.
“I want to emphasize how much I appreciate President Buhari’s work so far. I have seen him put together a team so that we can do everything that we can to help him succeed and help the people of Nigeria succeed.”
Obama also assured that the American government would continue to partner with Nigeria in ensuring political stability in Africa and around the world. He congratulated the country for conducting peaceful elections.
He also commended Nigeria for taking leadership position in the fight against the spread of diseases like Ebola and polio and pledged that his administration would continue to accord Nigeria the necessary recognition to bring peace to Africa and the world.
US pressure helped ensure credible polls  —Buhari
In his remarks, President Buhari commended the American government under the leadership of President Obama for mounting pressure on former Jonathan’s administration to conduct a free and fair election in Nigeria.
Buhari said US and European pressures to ensure the election was “fair and credible led us to where we are now.” According to him, Nigeria will remain forever grateful to America for this singular act.
“The visit of the Secretary of State before the elections to see the former president, the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission and the opposition was a positive trend that saw us through the elections.
“And the maintenance of pressure by United States mainly and Europe to make sure that the elections were free, fair and credible made us to be where we are now.
“It would have been almost impossible if the United States did not maintain the pressure on the former Nigerian Government.”
Buhari, therefore, thanked Obama for inviting him to visit his country as well as his administration’s support to Nigeria.
Governors of Nasarawa, Borno, Imo, Oyo and Edo states as well as some government officials accompanied the President on the visit.
Visit’ll strengthen US, Nigeria’s bonds —Adefuye
Nigeria’s Ambassador and Head of Missions in the United States of America, Professor Ade Adefuye, has expressed optimism that President Buhari’s four-day visit to the United States would strengthen the ties between the two countries.
Speaking to Channels Television at the Embassy of Nigeria building shortly before the arrival of  President Buhari, the envoy said the visit would also seek a renewed commitment towards solving the menace of Boko Haram in Nigeria.
According to the envoy, America was committed to the democratic process in Nigeria and the diversification of its economy to encourage a detour from oil to non-oil export.
He said: “Nigeria is the largest trading partner with America, and will want to maintain that. America would want to see a shift of the emphasis from oil to non-oil export, agriculture, power, infrastructure and solid materials and all the things that will help Nigeria to diversify.”
No rush to appoint ministers —Buhari
Buhari’s article in Washington Post read in part: ‘’This month, the world moved a step closer to the defeat of Boko Haram, the jihadist group that has terrorized hundreds of thousands in the northern states of Nigeria. In one of my first acts since taking office as President six weeks ago, I have replaced the heads of Nigeria’s Army, Navy and Air Force. Our new military leadership has not been chosen because of their familiarity with those in government, as was too often the case in the past, but on their track records and qualifications alone.
“These new military leaders will be based in Borno State in northern Nigeria, where the headquarters of the armed services has been relocated. This shift of resources and command directly to the frontline, in addition to the replacement of the head of the State Security Service, Nigeria’s intelligence organization, and a new emphasis on working in partnership with our neighbours, has equipped us to take the fight directly to Boko Haram.
“Already, we are beginning to see a degrading of Boko Haram’s capabilities as a fighting force. In recent weeks, it appears to have shifted away from confronting the military directly to an increase in attacks on civilian areas, as we saw only last week when an elderly woman and 10-year-old girl blew themselves up at a Muslim prayer gathering in north-eastern Nigeria. We should not be confused by this change, hateful as it is: It does not mean that Boko Haram is succeeding in its aims — it shows that it is losing.
“While we work to defeat the terrorists, I ask the people of Nigeria and the world for resolve and fortitude. The campaign we will wage will not be easy; it may not be swift. We should expect stages of success and also moments when it may appear that our advances have been checked. But no one should have any doubt as to the strength of our collective will or my commitment to rid this nation of terror and bring back peace and normalcy to all affected areas.
“Similarly, my determination should not be underestimated in other matters. This includes instilling good governance and tackling the scourge of corruption that has held Nigeria back for too long.
“As I meet with President Obama today — the first time a president of the United States will encounter a Nigerian counterpart following the peaceful transfer of power in a contested election in our history — I will be discussing my plans for critical reforms. So, too, will I discuss why the formation of my administration is taking time and, crucially, why it must. Already there are voices saying these changes are taking too long — even though only six weeks have passed since my inauguration. I hear such calls, but this task cannot and should not be rushed.

15 Differences Between Positive People And Negative People

As you know, it is a drastically different experience being around positive people versus negative ones. If you are striving to be more positive yourself, here are 15 ways you can do so:

1. “Failure is part of learning.”

Positive people view failure as an opportunity to learn and get better. They understand that failure is an event, and doesn’t define who they are. Negative people are emotionally disabled by failure because they allow it to define who they are. They fail to understand that it’s part of the learning and growing process.

2. “I can do hard things.”Image result for positivity

Positive people love to be challenged. They understand that there is no growth without struggle. Positive people embrace difficulty, and look for ways to overcome them. Negative people love the easy road. Because obstacles increase the likelihood of failure, they try to avoid them like the plague. To negative people, hard times don’t make you, they break you.

3. “I always give my best.”

Positive people focus on giving their best effort, regardless of the situation. They understand that there are many things they cannot control, but effort is not one of them. No matter what, the positive person strives to give their best — even if it isn’t much. Negative people want things to come easy to them. If they have to try hard, they believe they just aren’t good at it and give up. They are more likely to give their absolute best if they know people are watching them.

4. “She is inspiring!”

Positive people are inspired by the success of others, they look at those who are excelling and ask themselves the question, “What can I learn from them?” Negative people become jealous and threatened by the success of others. To negative people, when others succeed it means they are failing.

Image result for positivity5. “What can I do better?”

Positive people embrace feedback. Because they are always striving to get better, they are open to learn anything that will enhance their skill set. Negative people get offended when they receive correction or feedback. Instead of seeing it as means to improve, they interpret feedback as a sign of their incompetence.

This Strategy Will Make Negotiations Less Painful

This Strategy Will Make Negotiations Less PainfulFrom making job offers to closing deals, building a business can feel like a never-ending sequence of negotiations. But for most of us, the thought of being in "negotiating mode" all the time, like some pinstriped character from an ‘80s business movie, isn’t very appealing. Even the word causes stress. How can we negotiate like a pro without it feeling so adversarial?
In my executive coaching practice, I often help entrepreneurs and executives navigate challenging business negotiations. In the course of doing this, I frequently refer them to the work of Victoria Medvec, a professor at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. Her approach to negotiation is not only backed up by academic research, it tends to feel a lot less stressful in high-stakes negotiations.
Medvec is a proponent of a negotiation technique called MESOs, orMultiple Simultaneous Equivalent Offers. The idea behind MESOs is to give the other party multiple options to choose from that are equivalent from your standpoint.
For instance, say you’re the CEO of a growing startup and you’re making a job offer to a VP of sales candidate. You could do it the standard way with a single offer, or you could try giving the candidate multiple options, or MESOs.
Here's how you would create the MESOs:

1. Create a list.

Make a list of all the issues that matter to both parties. For the job offer, let’s say the variables that matter to both sides are salary, commission, equity and vacation time. (There may be other variables, like the size of the sales team budget, but let’s keep this simple for the sake of this example.)

2. Weigh each option.

Estimate how important these issues are for each party. From your interviews, you gather that the VP of sales candidate really values “upside” from equity and commission but also supports a family and needs a healthy salary. You're guessing they're less concerned with vacation time. On your end, let's say you care about managing cash (i.e. needs to keep a lid on salary), maintaining a "work hard" culture (i.e. has a bias against too much vacation) and achieving valuation milestones for investors (i.e. is open to being generous with commission and equity if it’s tied to results).

3. Think about alternatives.

Identify realistic possible alternatives for each issue. Given these preferences, let’s imagine the realistic alternatives for equity are 1 percent, 2 percent or 3 percent of company shares (with four-year vesting of course) depending on the rest of the package. For vacation time, the alternatives are the standard two weeks vacation, with the possibility for three or four weeks if that were important to the candidate, which it isn’t in this case. Let’s say there are a two or three alternative salaries and commission structures, too.

4. Narrow down the choices.

Finally, create three alternative offers that would be compelling to the other party and are mutually equivalent from your standpoint. For example, one compensation package might include 3 percent equity but with a lower salary, standard vacation time, and moderated commission structure. Another might include 2 percent equity with a medium salary, standard vacation time and a generous commission structure. The third might include 1 percent equity with standard vacation time, as rich a salary as you can afford, and a generous commission plan.
Voila, you've created your MESOs!
This might seem belabored, but there are a number of benefits to this approach. According to Medvec’s research, the MESO technique makes you appear more flexible, increases the overall odds of reaching an agreement and makes it easier to collect information about the other side’s preferences. By offering three alternatives instead of one, you powerfully frame where there are trade-offs. Plus, the process of creating MESOs forces you to do your homework in evaluating and prioritizing all the issues.
For me personally, I like the multiple-offer approach, because it gets me out of an adversarial mindset and focuses me on optimizing outcomes for both parties. There’s also something powerfully disarming about giving someone a selection of choices.
