RESEARCH IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES

     The deplorable state of research in Nigerian universities is alarming, from public to private universities the result is not far fetched.Several factors contribute to this disease capable of wiping out an entire generation of intellects,solution providers,etc from individual to parents to friends and the school environment.
    Firstly,lack of interest.As a child i grew up to be very inquisitive but as one grows if his curiosity is not catered for  it starts digging its own grave, making it an herculean task to be reignited .Most parents when asked questions about what they have little or no idea about put up an attitude that keeps the child away from asking questions about the topic aiding the grave digger.Moreover when the child takes his curiosity to school believing his teacher to provide a soothing response for him rather the parents behaviour may be mirrored adding hunger to anger.
     More,lack of encouragement and promotion.The Nigerian society has a ready made mindset and start ups are usually neglected,
without encouragement and promotion, these small seed of research that would have bore an Iroko tree is smashed on the ground and trampled upon by insults mockery and other devices of the evil within men. If these diseases can be cured for a start, "where there is a will there are many ways in an information age"
