ELECTRONIC LEARNING

The world is evolving every day, the days of letter writing expelled the donkey and carrier method from the school of life, how quickly did this happen? we cannot tell and since the advent of emails and social media they have prophesied the extinction of letter writing (professionally and unprofessionally). Before now it was slates, followed by the blackboards and marker boards all these are all evolving for the betterment of mankind.

Schools in foreign countries employ a high degree of electronic aided learning in syllabus to ease the transition of books to tabs students now attend classes with their laptops, notepads, tabs and smart phones these are all learning and lethal distracting aids , and the Rivers State University of Science and technology is not slacking among other Nigerian institutions in its pursuit in becoming the first e-learning Centre, However this gradual transformation has been stalled by some little gigantic factors of which only a few were examined here.
Inability of lecturers to learn, most lecturers believe that they have come to the climax of learning because of various qualification so they have refused to learn how to use computers, they prefer their old brown notes (touch tear) to tablets, well few of the young ones are actually gearing up and embracing electronic learning and teaching as projectors, laptops and tablets are now introduced in to the class room environment to aid learning for students this is a cleaner, cheaper, more convenient and most efficient way to  learn.
Another goliath of Israelites is the pace of transition from books to electronic devices (laptops, tablets and smartphones) this transition is a discipline on its own anyone who grew with pen and paper may have to dedicate extra time in trying to absorb knowledge electronically they may copy directly just to read from their books, as a testimony from me reading from a book and a laptop are entirely two different things  this process of moving from paper to screen is still conceptual in the minds of many and should be eradicated the world has been made small by the internet a whole library has been compressed into a regular self-contain in the streets of port Harcourt, and all the dictionaries and encyclopedias has been written into small jotter. Electronic learning should be sung like the national anthem.
Ways in which this menace can be reduced are outlined below
Payment of bonus to lectures who use electronic aids (laptops, projectors e.t.c ) to teach and examine students as this will motivate and inspire the  blockheads to act responsible, also mini laptops and tablets with lesser features compared to the original should be made available at subsidize their costs rate and they should be introduced to all arms of learning in the country this will ease the transition process as students will be more familiar with these gadgets. How long much  can you remember after reading from a laptop? Practice 30 mins every day the world is not waiting for you, you either catch up or cave up.
